Adsy Media reaches people who are mid-decision. They arrive with a problem — an architecture to pick, a term sheet to interpret, an audit to pass, a cost line to defend — and they read to the end of pieces that help. That makes the site useful if you sell to technical and financial decision-makers at software companies, and a poor fit if your pitch depends on impulse.
Who reads the site
We describe our audience by what they are researching rather than by numbers, because numbers belong in a media kit where they can be dated.
- Technical founders and early operators working out fundraising mechanics, dilution, pricing and the first ten hires.
- Software, platform and infrastructure engineers choosing databases, queues, build systems, observability and deployment models, and reading how those choices failed for other people.
- Engineering and AI leads evaluating model providers, retrieval architectures, evaluation tooling and inference cost, usually with a budget they must justify.
- Security engineers, privacy counsel and compliance leads preparing for SOC 2, ISO 27001, PIPEDA, GDPR or Law 25 obligations, and selecting the tooling and auditors that go with them.
- Finance, growth and revenue operators working on unit economics, payback, retention and pricing changes.
- Investors, accelerator staff and programme managers tracking mechanics, terms and the Canadian funding landscape.
Readership skews to Canada, the United States and Europe. Current geographic and platform breakdowns are in the media kit.
Formats
We keep the inventory deliberately narrow so that pages stay readable.
- Display placements. A limited number of positions on article and category pages, sold as standard IAB sizes. We cap the number of display units per page and do not stack them mid-paragraph.
- Newsletter placement. A clearly marked sponsor slot in our email edition, with a short copy block and one link.
- Sponsored articles. A single labelled article on a topic agreed in advance, hosted on the site with a permanent URL. Terms are set out below.
- Category sponsorship. Presenting sponsorship of a beat or a series over a defined period, with a consistent, labelled sponsor identification rather than editorial involvement.
Rates, availability, specifications and audience figures are not published on this page. They are provided on request in a current media kit, so that what you receive is accurate on the day you receive it rather than whatever was true when a web page was last edited. Ask at [email protected] and tell us roughly what you are trying to reach; we will send the kit and say honestly whether we think the fit is there.
Sponsored content: the rules we do not bend
Sponsored content is available, and it is available on terms that protect readers. These conditions are part of every insertion order.
- It is labelled "Sponsored". At the top of the article, in listings, in feeds, in newsletters and on social posts, with the sponsor named. The label is not a small grey line at the bottom.
- Authorship is stated. If the sponsor supplied or approved the copy, the page says the content is advertiser-supplied. If our team writes it, it is written to the sourcing standards in our editorial guidelines — dated figures, stated units, primary sources, no unattributed performance claims — and the page says that instead.
- No editorial-lookalike placements. Sponsored pieces do not use our reporting templates or bylines, do not appear in editorial rankings, recommendations or "best of" comparisons, and are never presented as an award, a test result or an endorsement.
- No undisclosed do-follow links. Commercial links in sponsored placements are attributed as advertising and disclosed. We do not sell links inside editorial articles, we do not add links to previously published pieces for payment, and we decline link-insertion and link-exchange requests.
- Editorial keeps the final say. On labelling, on placement, and on whether a subject or a claim can run at all. We will ask for substantiation of factual claims in sponsored copy and will decline copy we cannot stand next to. We will also decline a topic that puts us in conflict with our own coverage.
- Sponsorship buys placement, not coverage. Being an advertiser does not lead to editorial coverage, does not give advance sight of articles that mention you, and does not stop us reporting on you. It also does not stop a correction. Sponsored campaigns and editorial coverage are decided by different people.
Affiliate relationships are handled separately and disclosed under our affiliate disclosure. Affiliate participation never determines what we recommend.
What we do not accept
- Gambling, betting, casino and lottery offers, including affiliate funnels for them.
- Adult content and dating services.
- Unlicensed financial services, investment offers, signal or trading services, and crypto or token investment products, including "guaranteed return" and yield schemes.
- Health, supplement, weight-loss or medical claims, and anything presenting itself as treatment.
- Payday lending, debt settlement, credit repair and comparable high-harm consumer finance.
- Any campaign whose value depends on an undisclosed link, a hidden label, a cloaked redirect or a placement designed to be mistaken for editorial.
- Deceptive creative: fake system alerts, fake play buttons, fake close buttons, countdown pressure, invented endorsements, or ads that imitate our own interface.
- Malvertising, auto-redirects, auto-playing audio, cryptomining scripts, and creative that fingerprints or tracks readers beyond what our privacy policy permits.
- Political and issue advocacy campaigns, and anything attacking an identifiable person or group.
- Products we believe are fraudulent, or claims we cannot see any substantiation for.
We may also decline a legitimate campaign that is wrong for this audience, rather than take the money and waste yours.
How booking works
- Enquiry. Email [email protected] with what you sell, who you want to reach, your target timing and any budget range. We reply within two business days.
- Media kit and fit check. We send the current kit with formats, specifications, availability and rates, and tell you which placements suit the objective. If we think the fit is poor, we say so.
- Proposal and insertion order. We confirm placements, dates, deliverables and price in writing. For sponsored content the order also fixes the topic, the author arrangement, the labelling and any substantiation we need. Payment terms are agreed at this stage; new advertisers are normally prepaid.
- Creative or copy review. You send creative to specification, or an outline for a sponsored piece. We check it against the rules above, request changes if needed, and confirm labelling. Nothing goes live unreviewed.
- Approval and scheduling. You approve the final placement or draft; we schedule it and confirm the live date and URL.
- Live and reporting. We share delivery reporting at the end of the flight, and for sponsored articles, page-level performance. Sponsored articles stay online with their label intact; if you later ask for the label to be removed, we will decline.
What we commit to on ad quality
The reading experience is the product, so we protect it. We cap ad units per page and keep them out of the middle of arguments. We run no pop-ups over article text, no interstitials, no auto-playing sound, and no creative that shifts the page as it loads. We keep placements reasonable on mobile, where most of the abuse in this industry happens. Ad units are visually distinct from editorial and labelled. We monitor served creative and pull anything that misbehaves after approval, including through a network. Reader complaints about an ad go to [email protected] or [email protected] and we check what was served.
